T2· Micrófonos

The T2 is a true condenser microphone built around a hand-made 1-inch capsule with a titanium Mylar diaphragm. The maker describes titanium as stiffer and lighter than gold, which gives a fast transient response suited to fast-attack sources such as drums and percussion. A dual-diaphragm capsule offers four polar patterns: cardioide, omnidirectional, figure-8 and hypercardioid.

The controls are metal switches, with no LED and no plastic switches. Two pre-attenuation pads (-10 and -20 dB) extend the dynamic range for loud sources, and two bass-cut filters at 40 and 80 Hz reduce low-frequency noise and proximity effect. The die-cast metal body has a steel spring mesh grille and a flat, rounded-edge chassis. A custom shockmount lets the microphone sit centred, or lie flat against a drum head or guitar cabinet.

The T2 connects through a 3-pin male XLR and runs on 48 V phantom power. It comes in a metal case with the shockmount and thread adapter. A tested and matched stereo pair is also available, supplied with a stereo bar and two shockmounts.
