Stagebug SB-7
A small passive in-line unit that mutes one side of a headphone feed so a performer can wear one earcup off without sound bleeding into the microphone. It is aimed at studio overdubbing, especially orchestral instruments. The model is discontinued.

The SB-7 Earmuff sits between a headphone mix and the headphones. It lets a musician who slides one earcup off, to hear their own instrument or the room, silence that side so the open earcup does not leak into the recording microphone. A level control sets the listening volume, and a mono switch sums the left and right channels so nothing in the stereo mix is lost when only one ear is in use.
The input is a 1/4" stereo TRS jack that takes a standard headphone mix. The output side offers both a 1/4" headphone jack and a 3.5 mm (1/8") ear bud jack, so no adaptor is needed. Pressing the off switch mutes the left ear and leaves the right side unaffected. The unit can also act as a simple local volume control where one power amplifier feeds several sets of headphones in a larger studio.
The circuit is entirely passive, so it needs no power and adds no distortion or artefacts to the signal path.
