AML2
The AML2 is a compact active studio monitor from PMC's archive range, updating the AML1 with new EQ tilt circuitry, revised power supply layouts and a reworked cabinet. It suits engineers who want a small nearfield-style speaker with built-in amplification.

The AML2 is a two-way active loudspeaker built around PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading. It pairs a 165mm carbon fibre and Nomex flat-piston LF driver with a 34mm PMC soft dome HF unit, crossing over at 1.4 kHz with a 24dB/octave slope. The low crossover point is intended to give an even, accurate presentation of music and speech.
Compared with the earlier AML1, this revision adds micro-engineered EQ tilt circuitry, reworked power supply layouts, a cabinet structure with extra damping and slightly revised cosmetics. The amplifier section uses analogue circuitry, with 100W RMS driving the low-frequency unit and 80W RMS driving the high-frequency unit.
Signal comes in on a balanced XLR3-F connector with 20k Ohm input impedance. Power is through an IEC mains inlet, offered in 100V, 115V and 230V versions. Registering the new product within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years, subject to terms. A brochure, manual and drawing are available as downloads.
