The 61SL MkIII is a synth-style keyboard controller with a sprung semi-weighted keybed and aftertouch. The keybed scans at 10 kHz, and RGB LEDs above each key show scales, modes, zones and layers. Sixteen velocity-sensitive RGB pads with polyphonic aftertouch can launch clips, act as sequencer steps or be used for finger drumming. Eight knobs, eight sliders and transport controls complete the surface, and five colour LCD screens display parameter values.
The built-in sequencer has eight tracks of patterns. Notes can be recorded in real time or entered step by step, parameter automation can be recorded, and sequences can be edited from the keyboard. Arp type, sync rate, note and pattern lengths can be set. It has deep integration with Ableton Live, Logic and Reason, HUI support for Cubase, Pro Tools, Studio One and Reaper, and NKS compatibility. InControl handles other DAWs, and the software editor is used for custom mappings.
For connections, it has USB, three 5-pin MIDI ports (In, Out, Out 2/Thru), three pedal inputs, a clock output and two sets of CV, Gate and Mod outputs. One routable clock keeps MIDI and CV/Gate gear in sync. It needs the supplied power adapter and cannot run from USB power.
