This is a USB capture card that records and streams gameplay from consoles, handhelds, PCs and other HDMI sources. It passes video through to a display at up to 4K144 and captures at up to 4K144 as well, with HDR10 support and variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode passthrough. Passthrough to screens that use Display Stream Compression is limited to 4K120.
Capture works with Elgato's own capture software as well as third-party apps such as OBS, Streamlabs Desktop, Twitch Studio, vMix and Meld Studio. The software offers separate microphone tracks, flashback recording, stream-link recording without overlays, a library with smart folders, and AAF export of separate video and audio tracks for editing. HDR sources can be tone mapped to SDR when capturing. It can also record to an iPad with a USB-C port.
The card connects to the computer over USB 3.2 Gen 2 for full performance; USB 3.2 Gen 1 works at reduced resolution. HDMI 2.1 and USB-C cables are included. It works with PlayStation 5 and 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, Switch, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, PC, Mac and iPhone sources.
