The MR3 is a pair of powered near-field monitors with a 52Hz to 40kHz frequency response. Each speaker uses a 3.5-inch mid-low driver and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter with a dimpled waveguide, in an MDF cabinet intended to limit distortion and resonance. Total output is 18W per side (RMS), with peak SPL of 92.5dB at 1 metre, enough for near-field work or a medium room.
The analog front end and the Texas Instruments Class-D amplifier are configured for 24bit/96kHz operation, and the speakers carry Hi-Res Audio certification. Room compensation is handled by rear High and Low knobs (±6dB at above 10kHz and around 125Hz) plus Low Cutoff, Acoustic Space and Desktop Control settings in the EDIFIER ConneX app.
Inputs include a balanced 1/4-inch TRS, unbalanced RCA and a 3.5mm AUX, along with a Bluetooth 5.4 receiver that can hold two devices at once. A headphone output is provided. The ConneX app also covers Bluetooth playback control, sound effect settings and the user manual.
