Aikido
Aikido is an 11 hp Eurorack quad VCA mixer with a main mix output, individual DC-coupled VCA outputs and cascading submix routing. It has two built-in envelope followers, so it suits modular players who want sidechain compression, expansion and spectral dynamics in one module.

Aikido combines four VCA channels into a performance-oriented mixer. Each channel has a level fader with 6 dB of boost, a clickless mute switch with an indicator light, a DC-coupled input and output, and a CV input with its own attenuverter. Because the VCAs are DC coupled, the module can also route modulation signals, not only audio. The main mix output is AC coupled.
Two envelope followers let signals influence each other. The Side Chain follower input is normalized to Channel A and its output is normalized to the CV inputs, so patching a kick drum into Channel A and turning the attenuverters counter-clockwise gives compression, while clockwise gives expansion. A switch selects one of three response times. The Spectral Follower listens to the Channel D output, which can also carry the mix through cascade routing, and a switch focuses it on low, mid or high frequencies. Its output is freely patchable.
Jumpers on the back select whether the direct VCA outputs are taken before or after the mute, and provide cascaded mixing and main mix inputs and outputs. Two Aikido units can be joined into an eight-channel mixer, and the main mix can be chained with BUDDY. Power is supplied through a 10-pin connector protected by a PTC fuse and diode.
