The CD-A700 combines a CD player and a reversible cassette deck in a single 3U rack-mount unit. The two transports can be used as independent sources, each with its own pitch control, or linked through dubbing and extended play functions, including continuous play between cassette and CD and a CD Sync feature.
Both the CD player and the cassette deck offer ±12% pitch adjustment. Outputs are provided in balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA form. One pair is shared by the cassette deck and CD player, while a second pair is dedicated to the CD player. The CD player also has an S/PDIF digital output.
A wireless remote control is included, and a parallel control port allows the unit to be integrated into larger installations. The unit measures 483 x 138.5 x 270 mm and weighs 6.6 kg. It has been discontinued by the maker.
