The CD-01U is a professional CD player built to occupy a single rack unit. It uses a slot-loading transport and plays standard audio CDs, CD-R/RW discs in both 12 cm and 8 cm sizes, and MP3 files. A 20-second RAM buffer protects playback against shock.
Playback tools include repeat, single-play and program modes, pitch control of ±12.5%, and a Key Original mode that changes speed without altering pitch. A Call function returns to the last play start point, Auto Ready and Auto Cue prepare tracks for starting, a fade in/out function runs up to 10 seconds in half-second steps, and an eject block function prevents accidental disc removal.
Analog output is on unbalanced RCA jacks and digital output is S/PDIF optical. Control options are RS-232C serial and a wireless remote. The related CD-01U Pro version adds XLR balanced analog outputs, XLR AES/EBU digital outputs and parallel control over a 15-pin D-sub. The model is discontinued and replaced by the CD-400U.
