SGM 15

The SGM 15 is a floor-standing loudspeaker built around a 15-inch Dual Concentric driver, in which the woofer and tweeter share one axis. This point-source layout is intended to give coherent phase behaviour and even dispersion in both the vertical and horizontal planes, so the listening area is wide and the listener does not need to sit dead centre. The magnet system uses ferrite with copper demodulation rings and a high-flux magnetic circuit.

The tuning aims for a neutral, uncoloured presentation suited to long listening sessions. A three-way energy control on the front of the cabinet lets the user make small adjustments to suit the room. Bass ports fire forward, which makes placement near a wall or in a corner less problematic, and the speaker can also be recessed into a wall as in a studio.

The cabinet is dense and rigid, styled after the older Monitor GOLD, with a gold-anodized aluminium adjustment panel and an American walnut finish.
