The LX705 generates its piano sound with PureAcoustic Piano Modeling and offers 324 tones in total. Piano-category tones have unlimited polyphony, and other tones are limited to 256 voices. The PHA-50 keyboard combines wood and plastic, has 88 keys with escapement, and uses Ebony/Ivory feel key surfaces. The pedal unit provides continuous detection on the damper and soft pedals, and the sostenuto pedal has an assignable function.
Sound can be shaped with PureAcoustic Ambience (six room types, 11 depth settings), 12 My Stage settings, and a Piano Designer with many parameters such as lid, string resonance, damper noise and single-note tuning. Tuning covers 415.3–466.2 Hz in 0.1 Hz steps and ten temperaments. The speaker system has two 12 cm and two 2.5 cm near-field drivers plus two 2.5 cm dome spatial speakers, and a headphone acoustic projection mode is included.
The piano has Bluetooth audio and Bluetooth MIDI, USB computer and USB memory ports, 1/4-inch outputs, a stereo mini input and two headphone jacks. It works with the Piano Every Day and Piano Designer apps for iOS and Android. A built-in recorder and song library with lesson material are included.
