IB1S

The IB1S is a passive three-way monitor built around PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading. A 250 mm flat piston woofer made of carbon fibre and Nomex handles the low end, while a 75 mm doped fabric mid-range unit and a 27 mm fabric soft dome tweeter cover the rest of the range. The crossover points are 380 Hz and 3.8 kHz.

Film filters give two positions of high-frequency roll-off, 1.5 dB and 3 dB per octave, plus a flat setting. This option is part of the reason the model is used in film scoring and post-production. It can be set up in stereo or surround alongside its dedicated centre channel and the SB100 sub bass system.

The speaker connects through three pairs of 4 mm sockets, which allow tri-wire or tri-amp operation. It has a 4 ohm nominal impedance and 89 dB sensitivity, and the recommended amplifier power is 120 to 500 W. Each cabinet weighs 36 kg.
