The DDJ-SZ2 is a flagship Serato DJ Pro controller with full-sized aluminium jog wheels, whose resistance can be set with Jog Feeling Adjust. The jogs have illuminated cue point markers and a countdown display, and there is a touch strip for needle search and a Slip Mode that keeps the track running underneath during loops, scratches or reverses.
The backlit multi-coloured performance pads cover Hot Cues, Roll, Slicer, Sampler, Cue Loop, Saved Loop, Slicer Loop and Pitch Play, and show cue points set in the software. Three buttons record Hot Cue sequences for Serato Flip. Sound Color FX offers Pitch, Echo, Jet and Filter, and an oscillator section overlays Noise, Drop, Laser or Siren.
Two USB ports with two sound cards let two computers be connected, with an A/B switch on top for changing between them. The unit uses Magvel magnetic faders and a Cirrus Logic D/A converter with a low-jitter crystal oscillator. It is bundled with Serato DJ Pro plus the Pitch n' Time and Serato Flip expansion packs.
