The FS230C is a COB LED video light that produces full-colour and variable white light. Its modes are CCT, HSI, RGBCW, Gel, FX, Source and XY. White output runs from 2500K to 7500K in 100K steps, and brightness is set from 0 to 100% in 1% steps with a choice of four dimming curves. Colour rendering is rated CRI 95+ and TLCI 97+. With the supplied reflector it reaches 23,000 lux at 1 m (5600K), and 9,460 lux at 1 m (4400K) without it.
The Bowens mount takes softboxes, reflectors and other modifiers, and there is an umbrella hole plus a tripod mount with 0-180° angle adjustment. Three fan modes (Auto, Boost, Silent) let the user trade cooling against noise.
Control is from the panel, the NEEWER app (group management, OTA updates, Light Source, Source Match and FX Music modes) or a 2.4G wireless system with channels 00-99 and a range of up to 80 m. Any light on a channel can act as master, and the light works with several other NEEWER lights. Power comes from the included adapter through an XLR input with a cable lock, or from a 16.8V V-mount battery sold separately.
