The JS Series Dinky Minion JS1X is a compact electric guitar built around a 22.5" (572 mm) scale length, which places the frets closer together for smaller hands. It has a poplar Dinky-shaped body with a gloss finish and a bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement, a scarf joint and a satin finish. A sculpted heel is meant to ease access to the upper frets.

The 12"-radius amaranth fingerboard carries 24 jumbo frets and pearloid sharkfin inlays, with a Jackson pointed 6-in-line headstock and a dual-action truss rod adjusted at the nut. Two Jackson high-output humbucking pickups with ceramic magnets sit in the neck and bridge positions. They are controlled by a 3-position blade switch plus a single volume and a single tone control.

Hardware is black throughout: a 6-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge with block saddles, sealed die-cast tuners and dome-style knobs. It ships strung with nickel-plated steel .009-.042 strings, with a saddle height wrench and a truss rod wrench included. It is a passive instrument with no electronic connection beyond the standard output.
