Mainframe is a digital bit crusher pedal for guitar and other instruments that reduces sample rate and bit depth to create lo-fi, game-console and fuzz-like tones. It suits players who want adjustable digital degradation with filtering and expression control.

Mainframe combines sample rate reduction from 48kHz down to 110Hz with bit depth reduction from 24-bit to 1-bit. The range runs from fairly clean tones to heavily aliased, unrecognizable sounds, and it can also act as a gritty fuzz. A blend knob mixes the dry signal with the effect.
A switchable high-pass, low-pass or band-pass filter, with frequency and peak controls, shapes the artifacts produced by the crushing. A Sample Rate Tuning Mode analyzes the incoming signal and sets the sample rate to match its pitch, or a fixed interval above it, so the effect can follow what is played or be set to a song's key. Secondary knob parameters allow further fine-tuning.
The pedal has a mono signal path with a buffered bypass and silent switching. A saved preset or an external expression pedal or control voltage source can control any combination of the knobs through the EXP jack. It uses 1/4" input and output jacks and runs from the included 9.6VDC power adapter.
