Audio-Technica ATH-AP2000Ti

The ATH-AP2000Ti is a closed dynamic headphone built around a machined, polished titanium housing, with magnesium alloy used for the frame, arms and sliders to keep the weight down. The earpads and headband use sheepskin, and the pads are 3D-shaped with a low-resilience material for a sealed fit. Each unit is assembled in Japan and carries its own serial number inside the headband.

A newly developed 53 mm driver uses a permendur magnetic circuit, a pure iron yoke, a 7N OFC voice coil and a DLC-coated diaphragm. The baffle is moulded from hard PPS resin. The Core Mount Technology places the voice coil so that it divides the acoustic space between ear and housing in half, and the D.A.D.S. (Double Air Damping System) structure is used to extend the low end. Stated frequency response runs from 5 to 50,000 Hz.

The cables detach through A2DC connectors. A 1.2 m dual-entry balanced cable with a 4.4 mm 5-pole plug is included, along with 1.2 m and 3.0 m cables with 3.5 mm stereo mini plugs and a 6.3 mm adapter. A sheepskin semi-hard carrying case is supplied. The model is listed as no longer in production.
