Descripción

The D112 MKII is a cardioid dynamic microphone designed mainly for bass drums. It is an update of the long-running D112 and keeps that model's large diaphragm, which has a low resonance frequency for a solid response below 100 Hz. A narrow presence boost at 4 kHz helps it cut through dense mixes and loud stages, so it is described as needing little or no extra EQ.

The microphone handles very high sound pressure, calculated at over 160 dB SPL for 0.5 % THD. A built-in hum-compensation coil keeps noise low, and a bass resonance volume chamber shapes its punchy character. The main change from the earlier version is an integrated flexible mount.

Beyond kick drums, it is suggested for electric bass cabinets and trombones. It connects through a male 3-pin balanced XLR output, with a nominal impedance of 210 ohms and a recommended load of 2000 ohms or more.
